Our Cast body expanding gate valve is designed for use in liquid service applications. This full bore, through-conduit gate valve features a mechanically sealing gate to assure positive shut-off. The valve can be trimmed to meet most specifications handling a wide range of products and services. Extension and adaptation for actuation re options regularly requested and provided.

Applications

Principle of operation

Fully closed position

In the full closed position, the segment stop has engaged with the lower body stop and the gate is wedged downward, expanding the gate and segment to form a tight seal against the upstream and downstream seats

Mid Position

When Operating towards the open position, the gate travels across the wedge angle of the segment. This retracts the assembly so that is will slide freely between the seat faces.

Fully open position

In the full open position, the segment stop has engaged the bonnet stop and the gate is wedged upward. This expands the segment and the gate into the seats, isolating the flow from the cavity.
